Deke: 5 Years Old

Almost a month ago, Deacon turned 5 years old. He's officially a big kid in the family now and a big kid on his way to kindergarten in a few weeks. Here are his latest stats:

4 years old: 38lbs (68%), 42 inches (85%)
5 years old: 45.5lbs (79%), 45 inches (87%)

For his big day, we had two celebrations. The first was a karate party with his school friends, where he got to cut the cake with a sword--you couldn't ask for anything more Deacon than that.

The next day, his actual birthday, he got to pick what we did, so he chose the aquarium in Baltimore. We had a great time there, and then came home for cake and presents.

Overall, it was a fantastic birthday. I can't believe he's 5 already. Seems like just yesterday, he was the same size as Jasper.

Summer Fun

Okay, I know that I haven't even blogged about Deke's birthday yet, but before I forget, I wanted to post (in pictures) about how great summer has been so far.

Piper went to Girl Scout camp with her BFF.

Piper designed this amazing shirt.

The kids found four leaf clovers in our yard.

Deke graduated pre-k and is ready to head to kindergarten.

Fletch has his BFF over for a slumber party.

Jasper stayed adorable and turned 5 months old.

Piper looked like a teenager at the mall.

Fletch lived his best life at Boy Scout camp.

There is no joy greater than 300 little boys being sprayed by a fire truck on a hot June day.

On the last day of camp, Eric took Fletch and his BFF and his BFF's brother to the pool.

I picked up Deke, and he came home like this. Tigers are Deke's spirit animals.

We took Jasper for his first swim.

We visited with Erin and Tim and their crew.

And we saw July 4th fireworks.

Whew, that's a lot and we're only 5 days into July. There's a ton more stuff coming up soon.
