As the title on this post says, cherry blossoms are among my most favorite things in the world. Every year, I force the family to wake up early to go down to the Tidal Basin to see those beautiful trees.
This year was no different. We woke up bright and early to hit the cherry blossoms around 7:30am last Saturday. Here's the photos of our trip (with limited photos because the camera battery died so we only had our phones).
Overall, it was an awesome day, although VERY, VERY crowded. The peak blossoms happened over a weekend so the tourists were out in full force. On top of that, the Epilepsy Walk was happening at the same time with it's route going directly around the Tidal Basin. I feel bad because it's a very good cause but man, that walk was awful because we got stuck in a sea of people, going in the opposite direction. Next year, when I'm sure we'll do this again, remind me to check the calendar. Until then, I'll just look at these photos to remember the blossoms and how beautiful they and my family are.
