Easter 2015

We had a fantastic Easter weekend. I'm starting to think that I might like Easter better than Christmas. It's got better weather, better candy, less build-up, yummy ham, less stress, etc. The only thing it's missing is the music--maybe I need to write some Easter carols.

Anyway, back to our weekend. We started out on Saturday. Eric had school, so Deke had a sleepover at Eric's parents' house. While he was there, Fletch, Piper and I ran errands on Saturday morning and then went to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt. It was really fun, and P&F even got to see the Easter bunny.

Only bad part of the day was when Fletch announced that the Easter bunny was just a man in a costume. He said that he knew this because he saw the Easter bunny's sneakers and the Easter bunny talked. Something tells me that I only have another year or two before they stop believing. These kids are too smart for their own good.

On Sunday, the day everone was up and at it early wake-ups. Even though Fletch declared the Easter bunny just "a man" the day before, we got the kids to think the Easter bunny actually came and delivered Easter baskets. Piper and Fletch both declared the toothbrushes, undies, and legos to be "AMAZING!" so practical gifts for the win. Deacon was happy just to have an Elmo basket and didn't care about the contents.

After baskets, the kids put on their Easter clothes. Despite not really coordinating, they still looked really cute playing outside in the beautiful weather.

We then moved to the backyard for the egg hunt. P&F just loved it. Deacon wasn't really sure what to do but he wants to be like the big kids, so he just followed their lead.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, playing outside, eating delicious food that Eric's parents brought, and stuffing ourselves full of chocolate. Another great Easter in the books.
