First weekend in May: I went to Boston to visit my mom. It was a great, short, relaxing trip. While I was gone, Eric manned the homefront and did a great job. I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who let me get away. While I was in Woburn napping, he was busy taking the kids back to their favorite places--Silver Diner and Leesburg Animal Park--with his parents. Here are a few photos of their adventure.
Second Weekend in May: The second weekend in May was Mother's Day. We had a fantastic weekend of visiting Clemyjontri Park (which is a fantastic park/playground in Fairfax County), relaxing, and going to Reston Zoo.
Unfortunately, I don't have any pics from the weekend. But, as a Mom's Day gift for my mom and Eric's mom, we had pro pics taken, and I made a photobook. You can take a look at it here. You can also view all the photos from our pro session here. Our photographer, Kory, actually took pictures are our wedding, so it was really special to have her do these pictures too. She was so kind and patient, even when the kids were completely melting down during the entire session.
Third Weekend in May: That brings us to last weekend. Mom came to visit, and we had a great time. We spent Friday doing errands and hanging around the house. On Saturday, we started at the National Arboretum and then headed to National Harbor for lunch and played in the backyard in the afternoon. We ended her visit on Sunday with a playground trip and some more errands. Here are two pics from the weekend. Once I get more, I'll post them.
All in all, it's been a great--but busy--few weeks. And, it's only going to get better with Memorial Day weekend in a few days and then our much awaited trip to Dutch Wonderland.
